The Grand Staircase Escalante is one of America’s least known National Monument areas, and yet it is also one of the largest. Comprising over 1.8 Million acres (nearly 50% larger than Delaware!)The Grand Staircase Escalante is named for the incredible stepped cliffs, canyons and plateaus that make up a geological “staircase” formation that eventually leads all the way to the rim of the Grand Canyon. In fact this area is so vast and remote, it was one of the last areas in the continental United States to be fully explored and mapped.
For this very first Edition in our new Adventure Series, we embarked on an unforgettable adventure with noted photographer and explorer, Sinuhe Xavier.
