Watching Clay Regazzoni's courage as he attacked the 'Ring in the early 70's made you his fan for life.
Showing his fatigue at the end of the 1972 Formula One season with Ferrari that brought him only one podium, Regazzoni would leave for BRM the next season.
He would return to Ferrari in 1974, with Niki Lauda as his teammate, and finish runner-up in the World Driver's Championship standings.
Regazzoni would later drive for Ensign and Shadow, and at age 39, capture Williams' first Formula One victory at the 1979 British Grand Prix.
