COLOR #5 - AZURE / ARTIST #5 - JAY NELSON

An exclusive reissue that celebrates one of the most famous skateboard designs of the 1970s.

Limited to an edition of 50 boards per colour & size, each banzai skateboard comes in a high-grade collector’s box featuring an art print by one of the following artists: David Carson, Jay Nelson, Nathaniel Russell, Todd Glaser, and Cole Barash.

MEDIUM 23,5″ (60 CM)

This aluminium board is probably the closest you will ever get to the original 70s slalom vibe. We have deleted the shaky behaviour of its ancestors but preserved the nimble and quick spirit of a short wheelbase. Lower to the ground and with a narrow shape it demands a more controlled riding technique.

LARGE 28.5" (72 CM)

Equipped with thicker, shock-absorbing riser pads and a wheelbase near modern skateboards, hovering through the city becomes a new sensation. We were able to carry out the transformation to a modern form of transport. The specially heat-treated aluminium alloy allows stability and power transmission at any speed.

  • Hand-brushed and entirely made from anodised aluminium
  • Grippy urethane wheel
  • Ceramic bearing
  • Lightweight x-calibre truck
  • Stainless mounting part
  • High riser shock absorb
  • Aircraft-type vibration free locknuts

JAY NELSON

The art structures that have cemented jay nelson’s reputation as a creatively unique voice in both surfing’s culture and the wider world dance effortlessly across the tightrope of functionality and imagination – from customised vehicles and watercraft, to treehouses, dwellings, or spaces to exhibit his paintings and drawings.

Building these striking, three-dimensional spaces, often from reclaimed wood, also allows nelson to direct a person’s experience of an art exhibit (occasionally his own paintings), another person or a landscape.

Living and working in his home-slash-studio in San Francisco, the consistent breaks of ocean beach offer equal measure of inspiration and release.
