Former U.S President George H. W. Bush piloted a Grumman TBM Avenger aircraft in 1944. During his mission to attack the Japanese installation on Chichijima, he encountered intense anti-aircraft fire but was still able to release bombs over his target, despite his plane being on fire, and therefore managed to complete his mission successfully.
