Car Racing 1968 is fully in line with the trajectory outlined by the three
previous instalments of the Car Racing series (1965, 1966 and 1967).
Here again, it is by means of the archive treasures of the DPPI photographic
agency that this book, published by Éditions Cercle d'Art, proposes a unique immersion in the atmosphere of motorsports for the reference year.
Created in 1965 on the initiative of photographers fascinated by the fury of the circuits and the bravery of the drivers, the DPPI agency has always positioned itself as close as possible to the action. And in the 1960s, this expression was not a cliché!

The rich iconography of the Car Racing collection is drawn from the untapped
archives of the DPPI agency, born in 1965 from the passion of a handful of men for photography and cars, preferably sports cars. One of the strengths of this collection is that it never deviates from its stated purpose, namely its primarily photographic editorial focus: “This is not yet another history book about motorsports,” insists Fabrice Connen, the director of DPPI. “Each time, we prefer the most powerful, most unusual photos, or those that give the best idea of the atmosphere of the time, even those taken during minor events.”
